How to Find Local Shows with BandScope (and Post Your Own)
Looking for live music near you? BandScope helps fans, musicians, bands, and venues discover upcoming local shows in one place. You can browse listings by city, follow the people and places you care about, and (if you play or host music) post your own events for free. Here is how it works.

How to find local shows
- Open Shows from the main navigation.
- Set your city or region (and radius, when available) so listings match where you actually go out.
- Skim upcoming shows: flyers, dates, times, locations, and who posted each listing (musician, band, or venue).
- Tap a show for full details, lineup, and RSVP options.
- Follow bands and venues you like on Discover or Connect so you get notified when they post the next gig.
Tip: if you only want established acts and venues, start on Discover, then jump into their upcoming events from their profiles.
Why local show discovery works better when posting is free
Many older gig boards bury basic posting or messaging behind a paywall. BandScope keeps finding shows and posting them free for everyone. That matters for underground and local scenes: more people can list a date, and more fans can see it without hitting a subscription wall.
How bands post shows
If you have a Band account (or a Musician account), you can publish your own listings:
- Sign up and choose Band (or Musician) during profile setup.
- Open Post a show from More, or go to Profile → My shows → Post a show.
- Add the show name, date, time, time zone, location, flyer, and description.
- Optionally tag performing bands on the lineup so their followers can discover the bill.
- Publish. People who follow you get notified about the new event.
After the night is over, you can edit and reuse a past listing by updating the date and details instead of starting from scratch.
How venues post shows and find bands
Venues are first-class on BandScope, not an afterthought. With a Venue profile you can:
- Post upcoming shows at your room with the same Post a show flow bands use.
- Browse local bands on Discover and Connect.
- Message bands directly to book or confirm a date.
- Build a following so regulars get notified when you announce the next night.
That two-sided loop (venues listing nights, bands listing gigs, fans following both) is what keeps a local calendar useful as the community grows.
