Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about using BandScope for live music discovery and connections.

Can I post an event with a musician account?

No. Only Band and Venue profiles can create and publish events. That keeps the events list focused on real shows and venue listings, instead of filling up with posts that are really “looking for players” or audition calls. As a musician you can still get discovered on the musicians page, message other people, and RSVP to events you want to attend.

What are the different profile types?

Musician is for individual artists. Band is for groups. Venue is for spaces that host live music. Fan (user) accounts can follow the scene, RSVP, and message people, but don't appear in the musician directory.

Can I change my user role?

Shoot us a feedback message and we'll change it for you in this early stage.

How do I find bands or musicians near me?

Open Connect, set your area and radius in Filters, and use search, genres, or instruments to narrow the list.

Where do I see upcoming shows?

The Events page lists upcoming shows. You can filter by location and by whether the listing was posted by a band or a venue. Use Connect to browse musician and band profiles.

How do I message someone?

Open their profile and use Message (you need to be signed in). Your conversations live under Messages in the app menu.

How do I block or report someone?

Open their profile while signed in and tap the ··· menu at the top right corner. Choose Block or Report. Blocked people won't show up in your feeds and can't message you.

How do I unblock someone?

Open Blocked users in your Settings and tap Unblock next to their name. You can also open their profile and choose Unblock from the ··· menu.

How do I change my profile info?

Open Profile and tap Edit profile to update your photo, bio, location, genres, instruments, and other details. Some choices (like account type) may be limited after setup. Use Send feedback if you need help.

Where is my data explained?

See our Privacy policy for how BandScope handles account and usage information.

How do email notifications work?

They are optional and off by default. Select Notification Settings in your Settings to turn on email for new followers and/or new direct messages. When you created your new account, you were asked to opt in to email notifications. If you chose to opt in, your email notifications were set to every time for new followers and new direct messages. You can change this in your Settings.
